Transforming adolescent health to unlock agency, gender equality and a future free from intergenerational poverty
Transforming adolescent health to unlock agency, gender equality and a future free from intergenerational poverty

The Problem

Only 2 out of 5 girls complete 10 years of schooling

23% girls under 18 years are are victims of child/early/forced marriage

71% of adolescents lack access to contraceptives in India

The female labour force participation rate for India is 32%, lower than the global average of 61%

Education, Health, and Employment are interconnected challenges, especially for women and girls from marginalized communities where gender discrimination is prevalent, climate crisis is increasing their vulnerability, and there are negligible opportunities for economic participation.

Making informed choices about their sexual and reproductive health is the gateway for women to break free from the trap of intergenerational poverty, and improve the welfare of herself, her children, and her household.

About Us

Femfuture Collective began in 2018 as a storytelling campaign to promote sustainable menstruation and raise awareness about menstrual waste and its impact on health and the planet. Since 2020, we have implemented on-ground projects with community partners, focusing on menstrual health, its connection with education, and bringing attention to the intersectional lens of gender and climate.

Our Vision

All women, girls and gender diverse people deserve an access to a healthy, happy, and dignified life. Our vision is to be a catalyst for systemic interventions to impact the healthcare ecosystem through innovation, education, and action.

Our Mission

We are on a mission to nurture a cadre of 100 future health champions through an intersectional feminist lens and community leadership approach by 2030. Femfuture Collective aims to equip 10,000 young people (13-25 years old) with the necessary life skills and intelligence on sexual and reproductive health through a gender and climate lens.

Our Work

Red Action Lab

Red Action Lab (RAL) is a 9-month, hybrid, paid action learning fellowship where we are creating a community of comprehensive sexuality educators across Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities of India. The fellows undergo capacity-building around curriculum, stakeholder engagement, and feminist leadership to evolve as agents of change in their communities. By equipping them with innovative tools and technology, we aim to foster shared leadership, collaborative learning, and ownership at the grassroots. Applications are now open.

The program has 4 core pillars:

Experiential Curriculum

A hands-on, activity based and feminist curriculum that equips fellows with knowledge and tools on SRHR, gender, and climate justice through reflection, dialogue, and action.

Youth Leadership

Experts conduct workshops on critical skills like storytelling, building resilience, navigating bias, facilitation, feminist self-care etc.

Mentorship

Fellows are supported by leaders from the impact space and a peer learning ecosystem that centers care, accountability, and shared growth.

Community Action Project

Fellows design and lead local projects that address SRHR and climate challenges, co-created with the girls and communities they work with.

Green Period Project

Through this initiative we aim to create awareness, access, and action for menstruators to make the shift to an eco-friendly alternative for a cleaner, greener and healthier period for themselves and the planet.

We partner with government schools, youth hubs, and non-profit organizations to conduct education workshops with adolescent girls and women from disadvantaged communities and enable them with safe, correct, and relevant information about their menstrual health. We also provide online support for them in their sustainable menstruation journeys.

We partner with multiple, trustworthy sustainable period product companies to make affordable eco-friendly period products like menstrual cups, reusable cloth pads, and period underwear available at a subsidised cost.

Real Voices. Real Change.

Meet our 2025 Red Action Lab Fellows – youth leaders from Jharkhand, Odisha, and Uttar Pradesh, sharing their journeys of impact. Their stories reflect how community-led change is shaping our work and impact on ground.
